Don Swick, a familiar personality throughout Saskatchewan’s collision repair industry, died on Feb. 27 at 5 p.m. in Saskatoon. He was 64.

Swick spent 25 years with PPG, where he served as a manager supporting collision repair facilities across the province and neighbouring markets. In that role, he worked closely with bodyshop owners, managers and technicians, providing product support and industry guidance. Over more than two decades, he became a well-known and respected presence in the field.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Swick was widely recognized for his sharp sense of humour and quick wit.

“Don was a larger-than-life character known for his quirky sense of humour, quick wit and unparalleled charisma,” said Tom Bissonnette, director of SAAR and a longtime friend. “He had a remarkable gift for getting away with things that would have landed most people in hot water, making him the life of any party and the source of countless stories. Those who were brave enough to engage him in a battle of wits quickly learned that Don was not only sharp but also hilariously unpredictable.”

Swick is survived by his wife, Rae; daughter Serena; and sons Alec and Evan.

A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, March 12 at Lakeview Church in Saskatoon. Further details will be shared as they become available.
