Las Vegas, Nevada — Calling all would-be vehicle builders, the window for you to prove your skills on the industry’s biggest stage is closing quickly, as the deadline to apply for the SEMA Show 2022 Battle of the Builders Competition looms less than one month away.
Back for what is sure to be another exciting year of competition, and featuring Bodyworx Professional favourites and top three finishers in last year’s Young Guns competition, Cole Marten and Chelsie Lesnoski of Penticton, B.C., the Battle of the Builders competition pits some of the world’s best builders against each other during the week of the show.
Applications to enter the event officially end on Oct. 14, though an application is not a guarantee that your build will earn a spot at the show.
According to SEMA’s application form, a spot can be secured for your vehicle through an exhibitor to display the vehicle either as a confirmed feature or booth vehicle. Feature and booth vehicle confirmation is required by Oct. 17.
The competition is again split into separate judging categories for hot rods/hot rod trucks, four-wheel-drive and off-road vehicles, sport compact/import performance/luxury and exotic vehicles, and the Young Guns competition—the only category open to all years, makes and models, but limited to builders under the age of 30.
Winners of the competition are announced on the closing night of the show, as well as being featured in a one-hour television special of the event to be broadcast on the History Channel on Jan. 28, 2023.
