Car Mechanic Simulator goes to the next level

Toronto, Ontario – August 20, 2018 — The bestselling Car Mechanic Simulator series from European developer Red Dot Studios has released its latest hit, Car Mechanic Simulator 2018.

 

With 78 percent approval on the online video game marketplace Steam, Car Mechanic Simulator is a highly realistic game that challenges players to repair, paint, tune and drive cars to expand their repair service empire. The new features include photorealistic graphics, featuring 40 plus cars, more tools, more options and more parts than ever before.

 

This game contains missions which challenges the players with time constraints that should be met. The purchase of additional tools are available and the game also allows the player to upgrade a garage to include specific equipment such as a lacquer sprayer or a parts warehouse.

 

At this point, many of our readers will be raising their eyebrows.  Why would anyone would choose to entertain themselves with what is, for the majority of CRM’s audience, altogether too close to the daily grind? 

 

One online critic who goes by Herodion and has clocked almost 80 hours on the game explained the appeal this way:

“Car Mechanic Simulator 2018 does what it says on the box, you fix cars and get a bit of payment for it… To begin with, cars are handed to you with a set of complains, which are vaguely stated, noisy exhaust, car won’t start, steering feels loose. It’s up to you to find out what’s wrong and replace the faulty components… As you get more experienced (literally and in game) you learn more about car layout in general.”

While that explanation may not be particularly elucidating for those who view being payed to fix cars and understanding customer complaints, the game’s success should be seen as a good sign for the industry. Despite being in the depths of a severe labour shortage, there are people who are very excited by the industry – so excited, in fact, that they are willing to pay to participate in a make-believe facsimile of life as a collision repairer.
