Members of Canada’s auto recycling sector are heading to Calgary for the Western Canada Auto Recycling Show.
The inaugural event, scheduled for September 27–28 at the Grey Eagle Resort & Casino, has drawn strong interest from recyclers across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, along with participants traveling from Ontario, Quebec and Prince Edward Island. More than 150 delegates are registered.
The two‑day program will open Friday morning with an off‑site tour at PRO Auto Recyclers, where delegates will visit the facility before returning to Calgary for a recyclers’ roundtable and the first of two evening networking receptions. A trade show featuring 15 exhibitors will run throughout the weekend, with companies including Car‑Part.com, Copart Canada, Hollander, PMR Inc., Inland Steel Products, QRP Canada, VINMatchPRO, SMASH and several equipment and insurance providers presenting products and services for the recycling sector.
Industry presentations from Cowan Insurance, Buddy Automotive Innovations, Car‑Part, AMVIC, ARC and Hollander will anchor the educational portion of the event. Keynote speaker JC Cahill is scheduled to deliver a session focused on practical business improvements, followed by an expert recyclers’ panel featuring Dalbert Livingstone of Prince Edward Island, Corey Earl of Ontario and Jeremy Swanson of Saskatchewan. Cahill will join the panel as well, offering additional perspective.
The weekend will also include tappet car races and silent auctions supporting the Jack Cohen Continuing Education Fund, continuing a long‑standing fundraising tradition within the industry.
