BAAN Powertrain has opened a distribution location in Oakville, expanding the Alberta-based company’s supply network into Ontario.
The location will stock new and remanufactured engines, transmissions, transfer cases, differentials, axle assemblies and related powertrain components for auto recyclers, independent repair shops, dealerships and fleet operators.
BAAN Powertrain is a family-owned powertrain remanufacturer and distributor headquartered in Nisku, Alta. The company has supplied powertrain products in Canada and international markets for more than 20 years.
“Our customers in Ontario and Eastern Canada have been asking us to get closer to them, and Dec. 1 is the day we do it,” said Jordan Schlamp, president of BAAN Powertrain Corp.
“When a vehicle is sitting in a bay waiting on a powertrain, every day counts. With inventory on the ground in Ontario, we can get the right unit to the shop faster and help our partners turn vehicles around for their customers.”
BAAN said the Oakville location will shorten delivery times and reduce freight costs for customers east of Manitoba by keeping frequently requested products in Ontario.
The company carries more than 30,000 powertrain units and components across its inventory. It cited Statistics Canada’s 2025 vehicle-registration data, which shows Ontario accounts for more than one-third of Canada’s 25.3 million light-duty vehicles.
Customers will be able to order products from the Ontario inventory through BAAN’s national distribution network. The location will be supported by the company’s existing warranty programs.
BAAN also offers online ordering through Nexpart, with customers able to view live inventory and pricing at any time.
The company is an active member of the Automotive Industries Association of Canada.
