PPG, a global supplier of paints, coatings and specialty materials for the automotive and industrial sectors, is now the sole supplier of automotive refinish coatings for Quality Collision Group, a U.S.-based collision repair operator.
The agreement covers more than 95 Quality Collision Group collision repair centres operating in 13 U.S. states. The network does not operate collision repair centres in Canada.
Under the agreement, Quality Collision Group bodyshops will use PPG’s Envirobase High Performance waterborne paint system, which is designed to match original equipment manufacturer finishes. The deal also includes access to PPG digital colour and paint management tools, including the Visualizid colour visualization platform, the MoonWalk automated mixing system, the DigiMatch spectrophotometer and Linq colour software. Allied products, training and consulting services are also part of the arrangement.
“We are pleased to provide all of Quality Collision Group’s locations with tools to help the company deliver higher levels of productivity, improving the process from the time a vehicle enters the bodyshop until it leaves,” said Rodolfo Ramirez, vice-president of automotive refinish for the Americas at PPG. “The combination of digital solutions, liquid paint and allied products will help Quality Collision Group service more vehicles at a higher level of quality than ever before.”
The deal comes as the paint company has emphasized a suite of products and tools aimed at reducing waste in collision repair centres. Thes Envirobase High Performance, for example, is designed to lower volatile organic compound emissions.
Quality Collision Group was founded in 2020 and has expanded through acquisitions and new locations. The company focuses on standardized repair processes and original equipment manufacturer-certified repairs across its collision repair centres.
The agreement establishes a single refinish coatings supplier across the Quality Collision Group network and standardizes paint systems, tools and support across its bodyshops.
