Toronto, Ontario -- The Certified Automotive Parts Association announced late last year it was discontinuing its published downloadable aftermarket parts certification reports—including its decertification lists—at the end of 2025.
According to CAPA officials, the best and most current way to check whether a part is certified or decertified is through the online Part Search feature on its website.
The tool offers real-time, accurate, and easily accessible data on the certification status of parts and specific production lots. Because this online search can be used to verify certification status, a the separate monthly and weekly downloadable PDF lists are no longer necessary.
CAPA added it will continue to announce any full part or part lot decertifications that are connected to potential safety concerns through its Public Notices and Product Safety Alerts section online, rather than through the old downloadable report format.
CAPA is an independent, non-profit certification organization established to develop and oversee a testing program assuring the quality, fit, performance, and safety of aftermarket automotive replacement parts.
