Saskatoon, Saskatchewan -- The Saskatchewan Association of Automotive Repairers is revealing the full agenda for its 2025 Fall Conference.

The event, to be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the Willows Golf & Country Club in Saskatoon, will offer attendees a full schedule of educational presentations, networking opportunities, recreational activities and fundraising efforts designed to support the next generation of auto repair professionals.

The conference will feature several guest speakers from the automotive and insurance industries, including Andy Boyd, 3M’s senior business development manager for digital platforms in the United States and Canada, and Ciaran Downes, senior director of national appraisal services for Saskatchewan Government Insurance.

After the morning presentations, participants can take part in the Long Drive Contest on the golf course, followed by a shotgun start for the golf tournament. The Willows Golf & Country Club, a Dunes-style course, offers a player-friendly layout and amenities including cart service, GPS on golf carts, a snack shop, and rental clubs. Following the tournament, attendees will reconvene for a steak barbecue and prize-giving ceremony to celebrate top performers and foster further networking.

Proceeds from the SAAR Fall Conference support programs aimed at encouraging youth to enter the auto repair trades, including Sask Distance Learning, Regina and Saskatoon Industry & Education Boot Camps, Skills Canada, Swervin Mervin Indy Cars, and Sask Polytechnic. By combining educational sessions, hands-on activities, and networking, the conference provides a comprehensive experience that benefits both attendees and the industry as a whole.

Tickets are available through Event Camp. The Willows Golf & Country Club is located at 382 Cartwright Street in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. SAAR’s conference is fundraising for the Sask Distance Learning program to attract young people to the auto repair trades, in addition to Regina and Saskatoon Industry & Education Boot Camps, Skills Canada, Swervin Mervin Indy Cars and Sask Polytechnic. 

The one-day event runs from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. CST, with both the fall meeting and golf tournament on the agenda. Confirmed guest speakers include Andy Boyd, 3M’s digital platform senior business development manager for strategic accounts in the United States and Canada and Ciaran Downes, the senior director of national appraisal services for Saskatchewan Government Insurance.

The Long Drive Contest on the golf course will take place after lunch before the 1:00 p.m. shotgun start. Attendees will later meet in for a barbecue and prize-giving event.

Full Agenda – Thursday, September 4, 2025

  • 7:00 – 8:00 a.m. – Breakfast in the Dreher Room
  • 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. – Morning presentations with guest speakers including Andy Boyd (3M) and Ciaran Downes (SGI); topics include industry trends, emerging technologies, and workforce development
  • 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. – Networking break and informal discussions among attendees
  • 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Lunch in the Dreher Room
  • 12:30 – 1:00 p.m. – Long Drive Contest on the golf course
  • 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. – Shotgun start for golf tournament; the Willows Golf & Country Club provides cart service, GPS on golf carts, rental clubs, and a snack shop at the turn
  • 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. – Post-golf networking and refreshment break
  • 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. – Steak barbecue and prize-giving ceremony in the Dreher Room
  • 9:00 – 10:00 p.m. – Evening socializing and networking, closing remarks
