The Saskatchewan Association of Automotive Recyclers’ 2026 golf tournament was in full swing on June 24, as 113 golfers came together at Dakota Dunes Golf Resort south of Saskatoon to network and fundraise for SAAR’s education partners.

Sponsorships of the event were available for bodyshops and suppliers to purchase, including the Tournament Sponsor with Foursome for $4,000 and the exclusive Banquet Wine Sponsor with Foursome for $3,500. Proceeds from the event will go towards ongoing training for Distance Learning, Peacock High School, REIDC, Sask Polytech and SEIC.

"With a few final numbers still coming in, we’re thrilled to report that the tournament is expected to raise approximately $20,000 in support of education and industry initiatives," said Tom Bissonnette, retiring SAAR executive director. "More importantly, the event showcased the strength, camaraderie and spirit of the SAAR community."

The event began with a burger and beer lunch prior to a men’s and ladies’ long-drive contest, where Brittany Huber won the ladies' contest and Ross Mykytyshyn won the men's.

The shotgun start was at 1 p.m., followed by a banquet featuring networking opportunities, prizes, and entertainment. Attendees consisted of 10 senior SGI managers, more than 40 bodyshops and many suppliers and sponsors.

Hole sponsors included Automotive Refinish Technologies, Certified Collision Group, CSN Collision, DCC Hail and Enterprise Mobility, among others. The retirements of SAAR President Terry Beattie and Bissonnette were also honoured at the event.
