Hamilton, Ontario -- On February 23, CARSTAR hosted a CARSTAR Game Day in partnership with the London Knights at Budweiser Gardens in London, Ontario. This event brought together CARSTAR franchisees, employees, and their families for an unforgettable night of hockey, community engagement, and charitable giving.
The event saw strong participation from several CARSTAR locations, including CARSTAR London East, CARSTAR London West, CARSTAR Wallaceburg, and CARSTAR Brantford. Franchisees and employees from these locations gathered to show their support for both the London Knights and Cystic Fibrosis Canada.
Volunteers from CARSTAR London East, CARSTAR London West, and CARSTAR Brantford generously gave their time to sell 50/50 tickets throughout the arena, encouraging fans to contribute to the cause.
Leading the charge for fundraising was Jill Zupancic, owner of CARSTAR London East and London West, who actively participated in the 50/50 ticket sales, and gathered the volunteers, further demonstrating CARSTAR’s commitment to making a difference in the community. Thanks to the incredible efforts of everyone involved and the generosity of game attendees, a total of $10,065 was raised for Cystic Fibrosis Canada. The overall 50/50 prize pool exceeded $20,000, making it a tremendous success in supporting the fight against cystic fibrosis.
With CARSTAR being the official sponsor of the intermission activity, Mike Minogue, owner of CARSTAR London East and CARSTAR London West, had the honor of stepping onto the ice to present awards to the winners, adding an extra layer of excitement to the evening. CARSTAR went the extra mile to make the night special for families from their franchise locations by offering an exclusive dressing room tour of the London Knights' locker room. This unique experience gave attendees a rare glimpse behind the scenes of a major junior hockey team.
“Being part of such an exciting event and supporting a meaningful cause like cystic fibrosis research is a privilege,” said Mike Minogue, owner of CARSTAR London East and CARSTAR London West. “It’s always rewarding to witness how the CARSTAR family and our community can come together to make a difference. The energy in the arena was incredible, and we’re thrilled with the success of the event.”
“It’s always inspiring to see how the CARSTAR community comes together for a great cause,” said Collin Welsh, Senior Zone Director, CARSTAR Canada. “The level of support from our franchisees, employees, and attendees shows how deeply committed we are to making a positive impact, not just in the collision repair industry but in the lives of those affected by cystic fibrosis.”
The CARSTAR Game Day with the London Knights wasn’t just about hockey—it was about uniting people, supporting a meaningful cause, and strengthening community connections. The event proved to be a resounding success, with CARSTAR franchise partners and their families enjoying a thrilling game while contributing to the fight against cystic fibrosis.
CARSTAR extends a special thank you to Jill Zupancic for her dedication in organizing and gathering the majority of the volunteers who played a crucial role in fundraising throughout the night.
