Toronto, Ontario-- Wesco Group has announced the promotion of Josh Cox to president, advancing him from his previous role as national vice-president of sales.

“I’m happy to share that I’m starting  a new position as president at Wesco,” said Cox in a statement published on LinkedIn.

Cox’s career in the collision repair industry began shortly after high school, when he took a job in a body shop. He worked his way from entry-level tasks to a refinishing apprenticeship, eventually becoming a journeyman painter and shop foreman.

He later transitioned from shop-floor work to the business side of the industry, joining PPG in automotive paint sales before becoming a distributor in California.

In 2019, he sold his operations to Wesco Group and was brought on to manage the company’s California territory. His leadership and performance in that role led to his advancement within the organization and, ultimately, his appointment as president.

In addition to his executive duties, Cox has been active in industry education and workforce development. He previously spent a decade as an instructor with I-CAR and has been involved in leadership training programs within Wesco.

He also serves on the board of trustees for the Collision Repair Education Foundation, supporting initiatives to attract and train new talent in the collision repair sector.
