A new automotive glass shop has marked its opening with a community event supporting families with sick children in Abbotsford, B.C.

NOVUS Crystal Glass Abbotsford held the celebration Sept. 19 at 2033 Abbotsford Way. Advertised as a charity event in partnership with Ronald McDonald House, it included a barbecue, children’s activities, giveaways and raffle prizes.

The shop provides windshield replacement, stone chip repair and advanced driver assistance system calibration. Davis Collision Group, its operator, is a family-owned collision repair business based in Lethbridge, Alta., with nine Fix Auto centres across Alberta and B.C.

Guests included a family that had spent 11 months at Ronald McDonald House BC and Yukon, Kristen Alleckna, an events and community partner, wrote in a Sept. 25 LinkedIn post.

“We are proud to sponsor a house that touches lives,” Alleckna wrote.

Volunteers from the Venom hockey team helped with the event, and 98.3 STAR FM broadcast from the shop.

Davis Collision Group had provided glass services through Fix Auto Abbotsford East for more than 20 years before establishing the separate facility.

“It was important for us to renew our focus on this segment by creating a dedicated glass facility,” said Ben Alleckna, director of operations for Davis Auto Group, in the opening announcement.

The shop is the first location launched under the NOVUS Crystal Glass banner since the partnership between NOVUS Glass and Crystal Glass was announced in 2025.

At the time of the September opening announcement, 12 Crystal Glass locations and five NOVUS Glass locations in B.C. were transitioning to the banner. Including Abbotsford, the combined provincial network comprised 18 service centres.
