Regina, Saskatchewan: More than 350 people attended the belated grand opening of Dynamic Auto Body in Outlook, Saskatchewan on May 2.
"It was a great event and a great way to celebrate the community," says owner Bree Campbell. "People really enjoyed the food. We served tacos-in-a-bag and there was a bouncy castle for the kids. One of my colleagues is part of a band and they played a wonderful two-hour set."
The new shop, which employs 12 people, features nine repair bays as well as a 25 metre by seven metre (80' by 25') estimating bay Campbell describes as "a lifesaver."
"The estimating bay is a lifesaver," she says. "It means that when it comes to quicker jobs, you’re not disturbing the rest of the shop.”
The new building also incorporates several innovative design elements include a perforated ceiling liner meant to reduce noise levels.
"That makes such a difference. By limiting sound exposure, it makes the shop a safer and more pleasant place to work," says Campbell.
The facility also utilizes bi-folding fin doors, constructed primarily of glass, which provide optimal lighting and improve safety by eliminating the risk associated with traditional overhead doors. Additionally, the tongue-and-groove plastic walls contribute to a cleaner and more efficient workspace.
Campbell, holds a degree in finance, got her start in the collision repair sector co-owning the original 600 square metre (6,000 square foot) Dynamic Auto Body facility in 2008. She became the sole owner in 2014.
She says the decision to construct the new facility was made after Outlook's council opened up new space for commercial lots.
"As a group, we decided we should look into building a new shop – a decision for which I am eternally grateful. The workflow at the new facility is a million times smoother."
