Color Compass Corporation is acquiring Kelowna, B.C.'s Magrath Auto Supply, expanding the collision repair supplier's operations in British Columbia.
Magrath supplies automotive refinish and collision repair products in Kelowna and the surrounding Okanagan market. Color Compass, a Canadian distributor of automotive refinish and industrial coatings, said the existing Magrath team and business model will remain in place.
The company plans to use the acquisition to expand its supply and technical support operations in the region, with a particular focus on Axalta refinish products.
“We are extremely excited about the Magrath team joining Color Compass and partnering within the region to grow all sectors of the business,” said Mort Hall, Color Compass vice-president of British Columbia.
Hall said the acquisition would also give Magrath customers access to Color Compass programs and services while maintaining the supplier's existing local relationships.
Color Compass provides coatings, equipment, training and technical support to collision repair and other customers. It is part of the Wesco Group of Companies, which operates more than 420 locations across North America and employs more than 3,500 people.
The acquisition took effect Sept. 1. Financial terms were not disclosed.
