Abbotsford, British Columbia -- Crowds gathered in downtown Abbotsford on July 1 for the city’s annual Canada Day Parade. Among the participants was CARSTAR Abbotsford (Maximum), a local collision repair facility known for its involvement in community events.
The shop joined the procession with a branded float and team members walking the route. According to co-owners Carl Jamieson and Jag Khangura, the goal was to acknowledge the role the community plays in the shop’s day-to-day operations.
“Canada Day is a reminder of how strong and united our community is,” the owners said in a joint statement. “We’re proud to be part of this celebration because it’s about more than just waving flags — it’s about showing up for the people who support us year-round. Being in the parade is our way of saying thank you to Abbotsford and celebrating the community that makes everything we do possible.”
The float included a visit from the B.C. Lions’ mascot, who handed out mini footballs to children along the route.
CARSTAR’s area manager of operations, Ed Comerford, said the Abbotsford team’s participation reflects a broader approach to community engagement within the company.
“What CARSTAR Abbotsford (Maximum) is doing in Abbotsford is a shining example of what it means to be part of the CARSTAR family,” said Comerford. “It’s not just about business — it’s about being present in the community, giving back and building lasting relationships. This year’s parade featured dozens of floats and walking groups from across the region. For CARSTAR Abbotsford (Maximum), the event served as an opportunity to connect with residents outside the shop and reinforce its visibility in the local area.
