My Way or the Highway: Vancouver woman fined for driving Audi on pedestrian walkway to get to ATM

Richmond, B.C. — A quick drive to the ATM has cost one Vancouver woman a lot more than she bargained for.

In Richmond, B.C., a woman drove her white Audi onto a pedestrian-only walkway at the Brighouse Skytrain Station to get to the ATM. She drove past several “Do not enter” signs and later claimed that she was in a hurry and didn’t see them. This one illegal move has cost the woman hundreds of dollars in fines and four demerit points on her licence.

This incident caught the eye of several onlookers who took pictures and posted them to the Richmond-area motorist’s Facebook page. Some have left comments saying that there should be barriers installed so incidents like this don’t happen again, while others think that this was just a case of the woman lacking common sense.
