Minneapolis, Minnesota — August 11, 2016 — Matrix Automotive Finishes, a brand of Valspar Automotive, has put out the call for cars coated in the company’s colours to step forward and potentially have their vehicle featured in the paint brand’s 2017 calendar ‘Award Winning Finishes.’
The calendar contest is open to classic and custom cars, street rods, trucks, race cars, compact imports, motorcycles, airplanes and boats, essentially anything finished in Matrix paint, according to Valspar’s director of marketing Laura Yerkey.
“This calendar is an opportunity to show your creative side with our product,” she said.
Contest rules state that the vehicle must be finished entirely in Matrix brand products and that the person submitting the entry is the individual that carried out the job.
“It doesn’t matter if you’re a professional painter working in the industry, or if you’re painting cars as a hobby in your own garage,” Yerkey said. “Anyone who has created an amazing custom paint job with Matrix products should send us pictures.”
Cars will be judged on finish quality, technical difficulty, design originality and artistic merit. Entries will be judged by a committee of automotive colour and refinishing experts. The winner of the contest will have their vehicle showcased in the calendar and will receive $1,000 in Matrix paint products. The second and third place winners will also be featured in the calendar and will receive prize packages of $500 and $250 of Matrix products respectively.
