CARSTAR Flint Road designed for production line flow

CARSTAR Flint Road's 118-ft. custom GFS prep bay. The bay features two REVO Rapid IR curing systems, as well as a side-load rail and dolly system.

Calgary, Alberta — March 29, 2017 — Mark Kharfan is Director of Operations for the Kharfan Group, a group of 10 CARSTAR locations in Alberta. His newest location, CARSTAR Flint Road, was designed to use a production line flow for superior flexibility and efficiency.

The CARSTAR Flint Road location now boasts several top-of-the-line Global Finishing Solutions (GFS) paint booths as well as other finishing equipment.

Kharfan worked with Booth Brothers, a GFS certified distributor, to plan the facility and complete the installation of the GFS booths and equipment. CARSTAR Flint Road is also home to a 118-ft. long custom GFS prep bay, complete with two overhead-mounted REVO Rapid infrared curing systems and a side-load rail and dolly system used to easily slide vehicles down the length of the bay. After cars are pushed to the appropriate station, the REVO Rapids can be pointed at the appropriate part or panel to cure fillers and coatings from the inside out.

According to Kharfan, this set up promotes efficiency because the REVO Rapids ensure that parts are fully cured before the product moves down the line, ensuring a flawless finish while reducing cycle times.

“However, efficiency is not as important as producing a quality product for customers,” says Kharfan.
