Cancun Connection: Maaco celebrates 51st year at ‘The Future of Better’ convention

Cancun, Mexico — Maaco is in full swing celebrating its 51st anniversary with franchise partners, corporate team members, valued vendors and special guests by hosting its 2023 convention at the Moon Palace Grand luxury resort.

Themed “The Future of Better,” the convention saw four days of networking, main stage presentations, a vendor trade show, breakout sessions and family activities, all kicked off by the annual Maaco awards ceremony and celebration of top franchisees.

Nearly 400 members from the U.S. and Canada joined to celebrate Maaco’s efforts in continuing to drive forward customer connection and community initiatives.

Tuesday night, the event kicked off with a welcome party and started with a recognition of Maaco’s top award winners so that attendees could get in the spirit of celebrating each others’ successes.

Wednesday saw fun in the sun with a beach Olympics where franchisees competed in team-based games. Following this, while franchisees were free to explore the beach and area, the Maaco team met to discuss upcoming partnerships for the ensuing year.

On the mainstage later in the day, guests heard from members of CCC Intelligent Solutions–an up and coming partner with Maaco for point of sales systems and estimating–as well as guest speakers such as Anthony Trucks, a former NFL athlete.

Thursday night saw an all-white beach party and vendor trade show.

For Maaco, the event encompassed an opportunity to provide guests with an update on key pillars of the company’s continued strategy for the coming years. These include a focus on operation excellence, customer experience and a focus on technology—especially scanning and estimation.

In reference to the kick-off of the celebration, Darryl Hurst, president of Maaco, said that the event represents an opportunity to “provide our franchise family with a well-deserved escape where we can come together, build connections and celebrate our 2023 accomplishments.”
