More than 150 members of the Canadian auto recycling community gathered in Calgary for a vibrant weekend of networking, learning, and camaraderie at the inaugural Western Canada Auto Recycling Show.
The event took place September 27–28 at the Grey Eagle Resort & Casino, bringing together enthusiastic delegates from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, alongside participants who traveled from Ontario, Quebec, and Prince Edward Island.
The festivities kicked off Friday morning with an engaging behind-the-scenes tour at PRO Auto Recyclers, giving delegates a firsthand look at the facility before returning to Calgary for a spirited recyclers’ roundtable.
Attendees then kicked back for the first of two lively evening networking receptions, setting a festive tone for the weekend.
Energy remained high across a bustling trade show floor featuring 15 industry exhibitors.
Delegates explored the latest products and services from major brands including Car-Part.com, Copart Canada, Hollander, PMR Inc., Inland Steel Products, QRP Canada, VINMatchPRO, and SMASH, alongside top equipment and insurance vendors.
A dynamic educational program kept crowds engaged with insightful presentations from Cowan Insurance, Buddy Automotive Innovations, Car-Part, AMVIC, ARC, and Hollander.
Keynote speaker JC Cahill energized the room with a session focused on actionable, practical business improvements.
Cahill also joined a lively expert panel featuring industry favorites Dalbert Livingstone of Prince Edward Island, Corey Earl of Ontario, and Jeremy Swanson of Saskatchewan to share valuable operational perspectives.
Bringing plenty of cheer to the gathering, delegates enthusiastically joined in on high-spirited tappet car races and competitive silent auctions.
The fun-filled tradition successfully raised funds for the Jack Cohen Continuing Education Fund, capping off a memorable debut for the Western Canada show.
