Canadian auto recycler Natalie Miller will present a session on how to use scorecards, clearly defined responsibilities and short-term priorities to improve yard operations at the Florida Auto Dismantlers and Recyclers Association’s 2026 Convention and Trade Show.
Miller, co-owner of Miller’s Auto Recycling in Fort Erie, Ont., will deliver a speech entitled Scorecards, Rocks and Results: Using EOS to Run a Tighter Yard with Michael Misky of Butler Auto Recycling on July 31.
EOS, or the Entrepreneurial Operating System, is a business-management framework. Its tools include weekly performance scorecards and three to seven priorities, known as rocks, that must be completed within 90 days. Miller and Misky will discuss how the system can help recyclers define roles, measure results and hold employees accountable.
The FADRA convention will run from July 30 to Aug. 2 at the Radisson Resort at the Port in Cape Canaveral. Its educational program will focus on sales, management, technology and yard operations.
Shannon Nordstrom, vice-president and general manager of Nordstrom’s Automotive and president of the Automotive Recyclers Association, will deliver the keynote address. He will discuss the company’s efforts to improve its operations and develop its new Nordstrom’s 2.0 facility.
Jimmy Spears, head of automotive at Tractable, an automotive technology firm, will present a session on the use of artificial intelligence in collision repair and auto recycling. Tractable develops AI systems that use vehicle images to assess damage and support salvage decisions.
Other sessions will cover facility efficiency, employee retention, bookkeeping, reinsurance, electric and hybrid vehicle processing, freight operations, self-service recycling and online parts sales.
Theresa Colbert of Car-Part.com and Misky will present an e-commerce session covering online listings, eBay tools, inventory decisions and the yard processes needed to support digital sales.
The convention will also include a golf tournament, a tour of Cocoa Auto Salvage, a trade show and an auction supporting FADRA’s legislative and scholarship funds.
