Toronto, Ontario -- A major auto repair franchise launching a new program meant to inspire and empower the next generation of skilled auto body professionals.
This week, CARSTAR announced it founded CARSTAR Academy, a program meant to raise awareness about opportunities in the collision repair sector and promote enrollment at college-level courses through the disbursement of scholarships.
"At CARSTAR, we believe that our greatest asset is not just the cars we repair, but the people who perform the repairs,” said Collin Welsh, senior director of CARSTAR Canada. “By investing in the next generation of professionals, we are creating a sustainable future for the auto repair industry and ensuring its continued success for years to come."
The move comes as the banner seeks to strengthen its relationship with Canada’s leading schools for the automotive trades. This approach has been praised by Darryl Roberts, a professor at Centennial College and co-ordinator of its auto body program.
“I am glad to see that CARSTAR is thinking and developing a program for future technicians with their Academy and scholarships,” he said following a recent event at Centennial College.
During the day-long program, the franchise’s auto repair experts offered in-depth ADAS training to students in partnership with Collision 360. “CARSTAR and Collision 360’s presentation had hands on activity for all students engaged in the learning and what is expected in their future careers.”
