Toronto, Ontario -- A Quebec-based heavy equipment company is putting its money behind the next generation of automotive skilled trade professionals.
Les Équipements Plannord recently awarded three scholarships to students graduating from heavy vehicle repair and equipment mechanics programs at two vocational centres in the province. The initiative reflects a broader effort to support and attract young talent into trades that are facing an aging workforce and increasing demand.
“Year after year, we’re proud to take part in these award ceremonies and to recognize the dedication of students completing their vocational training,” said Simon Paquet, general manager of Plannord, in French, according to a press release.
“These scholarships not only help us connect with future professionals, but also reflect our commitment to supporting excellence in our industry.”
Mathis Lacasse and Mathys Laplante from the Centre de formation en mécanique de véhicules lourds des Navigateurs in Lévis secured two awards, and Benjamin Bélanger from the Centre de formation professionnelle Wilbrod-Bherer in Quebec City received the third.
