Ingersoll Rand launches PowerSocket to bust tough bolts

The new PowerSocket from Ingersoll Rand is available in 17mm, 19mm, 21mm, 26mm and 27mm sizes.

Davidson, North Carolina — March 1, 2016 — Stubborn bolts giving you trouble? Ingersoll Rand says it has the solution. The company has introduced the PowerSocket, an attachment that Ingersoll Rand says will deliver up to 50 percent more torque than a stand-alone impact tool.

According to the company, the PowerSocket can bust loose virtually any bolt, no matter how stubborn and rusted.

“In field testing the Ingersoll Rand PowerSocket broke bolts loose almost immediately, when other methods failed. With a variety of sizes available, the PowerSocket helps technicians save time and energy loosening stubborn bolts,” says Eric Suro, Global Portfolio Leader for Ingersoll Rand Power Tools.

Similar to a standard impact socket, the PowerSocket fits directly on the square drive of a half-inch impact tool. Once fastened to the tool, the PowerSocket provides up to 50 percent more torque than standard impact sockets. Ingersoll Rand says the PowerSocket is made to the same durability standards as the company’s Impactools line. The PowerSocket is also lightweight and compact to fit in tight spaces.

The PowerSocket is available in five different sizes, 17mm, 19mm, 21mm, 26mm and 27mm, to meet the standard bolt and lug nut variations from a variety of car and tire manufacturers. The sockets are specifically optimized for use with Ingersoll Rand half-inch Impactools and are also compatible with half-inch impact tools from other manufacturers.
