New Certificate of Qualification prep course set for January

The prep course is designed to help working techs pass the Ontario College of Trades Certificate of Qualification exam.

Hamilton, Ontario — December 22, 2016 — Collision Industry Information Assistance (CIIA) has scheduled a new class to help unlicensed techs successfully complete Ontario’s provincial trades license exam.

“The impact of trades license enforcement by the Ontario College of Trades and the fact that most of the exam challengers failed the trades exam on their first try has generated a significant interest in the courses,” says John Norris, Executive Director of CIIA.

CIIA is currently offering the Certificate of Qualification prep course in Toronto, Ontario at CSN-Martino Brothers Collision Airport location. The format is four full days. The course runs on two consecutive weekends, starting on Saturday January 14 and continuing on Saturday January 15. The course continues the following weekend on Saturday January 21 and Sunday January 22. The full course requires students to attend for all four days.

The course cost is $1,000, plus HST, for non-members of CIIA and $800, plus HST, for CIIA members. According to CIIA, most employers who have employees attending the class are eligible for training fee rebates from the government totaling two-thirds of the course cost.

To register, obtain information or receive a no charge Technician Equivalency package to help those that have the necessary hours of work experience, but no formal apprentice training, please contact CIIA at 1-866-309-4272 or via email to info@ciia.com.
