WIN names keynote speakers for 2014 Conference

Leesburg, Virginia — March 3, 2014 — The Women’s Industry Network has announced that Colette Carlson and Dr. Verna Cornelia Price will be featured keynote speakers at the upcoming Educational Conference May 5 to 7, 2014. The conference, being held at the beautiful Paradise Point Resort & Spa in San Diego, Calif., will be a non-stop symposium of personal and professional development for all in attendance.

Dr. Price is a renowned author, motivational speaker, executive coach and educator whose accolades include the Ann Bancroft Leadership Award and the WomenVenture Pioneer Award. Her address to the WIN organization, “The Power of You,” will focus on the subject of personal power, understanding what kind of powerful person you are, how that impacts the people in your personal and work lives, and how the type of power they have impacts you. Embedded in her message are tips about how to use your personal power as an asset when working with people.

Colette Carlson is a funny business communication and motivational expert who engages corporations, associations and individuals worldwide in the art of speaking your truth to maximize results, revenue and relationships.  â€œThe Hard, Cold Truth – Working Hard Isn’t Working,” will help conference attendees tactfully communicate successes; cultivate connections and develop strategic relationships. A highly sought after speaker, Carlson serves as leadership faculty for Executive Women International and writes a monthly column for Business Management Daily.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity for Dr. Price and Ms. Carlson to address the WIN members at this year’s Educational Conference,” said Jessica Rob, co-chair of the Conference Planning Committee. “Their messages are in alignment with WIN’s mission; their presentations focus on personal power, masterful communication, change and positivity in the workplace.”

In addition to these exciting keynote speakers, the 2014 Educational Conference will also feature additional programming covering everything from sustainability, a trending issue in the collision industry, to honing your negotiation and interpersonal skills. In this, the inaugural year of WIN’s presentation of the Most Influential Women awards, the gala dinner will focus on recognizing women who have been nominated by their peers as outstanding business and civic leaders. 2014 will also usher in a new era of scholarships for WIN. For the first time, WIN will award tuition scholarships to applicants from both secondary and post-secondary schools as the winners pursue their education in technical colleges across the country. Some of those winners will be in attendance at the conference.

Registration for the event will open in early March.
