Richmond, British Columbia — Southern British Columbia is now the site of one of Volvo’s most advanced facilities, as the Swedish automaker, alongside the Dilawri automotive group, announced the opening of North America’s first Volvo Retail Sustainable Experience (VRSE) facility.
Formerly Volvo of Vancouver, this 20,383.4 square-foot Richmond, B.C. dealership received a major facelift in order to align itself with Volvo’s stringent commitment to sustainability across its entire dealer and repair network.
To that end, the automaker has ensured that this new facility is LEED-certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) by the Canadian Green Building Council, having constructed the building with sustainable materials and fitting its roof with solar panels.
The facility is also appropriately equipped to manage Volvo’s many EV customers, with AC and DC fast-charging charging stations on-site and nine service bays staffed by certified technicians.
Having accounted for nearly every opportunity for sustainability, the facility’s chargers are powered by a combination of hydro-electric energy from the grid and solar energy, which is generated directly on site.
“The new Volvo Cars Richmond location reflects the commitment to quality, sustainability, and innovation that resonates so deeply with our customers,” said Volvo Cars Richmond general manager, Jesse Parker.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming visitors to this impressive new facility, which boasts a warm design as well as a broad array of environmentally friendly features, from EV chargers and a living exterior green wall, to our clean water and coffee bar.”
Volvo Cars Richmond is located at 338-10700 Cambie Rd.
