Toronto, Ontario — May 24, 2016 — Supreme Collision Centre has announced it is the first multi-store operation (MSO) in Canada to have every facility accredited under the Honda ProFirst collision program.

The process isn’t easy; it requires advanced training and a significant investment in people and equipment. For MSOs, the difficulty of this process is multiplied by however many facilities they have.

Supreme Collision Centre President, Marty Reddick, understands both the challenges and benefits of becoming the first MSO to have every facility Honda ProFirst certified.

“It sends a distinct message to our customers and respective business partners that we’re committed and in it for the long haul. We’re progressive owners, we put a lot of value on advanced training and the right equipment to make sure we’re capable of repairing vehicles according to factory standards,” he said. “It definitely elevates our status in the communities where we own and operate a collision repair centre. It sets the bar higher for the competition and establishes us as a collision repair leader.”

From Honda’s standpoint, all of the shops must be properly trained and have the right equipment. Chris Hogg is Honda Canada’s Business Planning Specialist. He says Supreme Collision Centre met all the necessary qualifications.

“They have a very high standard of collision repair. It’s refreshing to see they’re getting every store certified, not just their flagship,” said Hogg.

Hogg notes that training, proper equipment, maintaining I-CAR Gold Class and making sure everything is up to standard are all part of the process. Hogg also spoke of the importance of Supreme Collision Centre’s relationships with local Honda dealerships.

Reddick says the biggest challenge of having multiple locations Honda certified is making sure you have all the proper people in place.

“The challenge is having people capable of going to the next level at every location,” he said. “Not only do they have to commit to advanced training, but they have to have the capability of operating the required equipment and the ability to repair vehicles to factory standards.”

Reddick added that becoming the first MSO to have every location Honda certified speaks volumes about the quality of the staff at Supreme Collision Centre.

“We think it’s a testament to the people we have working in our organization that we’re able to obtain Honda certification at all locations,” he said. “It’s one thing to spend the money on the equipment, but if you don’t have the right people capable of performing at the highest level, it doesn’t matter what equipment you buy.”

Part of being a Honda ProFirst repair facility allows you access to Honda’s Service Express website. The site provides you with the latest parts, service and collision repair information which is critical when you are developing a plan to repair a vehicle. A repair you performed on a 2014 vehicle could differ for the same model in 2015. Not knowing current repair techniques and procedures will lead to improper repairs that could greatly impact the safety of the customer.

“We believe that OEM certification is clearly the future of collision repair and are fortunate to have very strong relationships with all of the Honda dealers within our communities,” Reddick said. “We’re honoured to be associated with such a great organization like Honda Canada.”
