Skill Scrolling: Skills Ontario launches jobs, training app for skilled trades

Toronto, Ontario — Skills Ontario launched a new “career exploration” app for Android and Apple devices in December that aims to connect the province’s skilled tradespeople of all ages and skill levels with training and employment opportunities.

The app puts new users through a quiz that matches them up with employment opportunities relevant to their individual skill set, while also informing them of scholarships and training events that they might be eligible for.

“We are thrilled to announce that our app is live,” said Skills Ontario CEO Ian Howcroft.

“Inspiring the next generation of skilled trade and technology leaders is crucial to our success as a province, and we are looking forward to providing this unique learning opportunity to Ontarians. Skilled trades and technologies play an imperative role in our lives and continuing to promote these fields and support the professionals working within them benefits us all.”

The app is simply called “Skills Ontario”, in both Android and Apple stores.
