Toronto, Ontario — In a first for Canadian collision franchises, Craftsman Collision has made the call to mandate COVID-19 vaccination for all employees.

According to last week’s press release announcing the policy, all employees of the Craftsman Group, which includes Craftsman Collision, Distinctive Auto Works, MB  Autoworks, Craftsman Auto Glass, Wedge Clamp Systems and Craftsman Ventures are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Bill Hatswell, owner and CEO of the Craftsman Group, said: “These measures are to ensure the safety of our employees, customers and to keep the Canadian economy moving. We highly encourage others in our industry to follow Craftsman’s lead and implement a vaccination policy to create a healthy and viable industry.”

Employees have until Nov. 30 to report their vaccination status.

No other Canadian collision networks have announced a COVID-19 vaccination policy, however, most government institutions, including the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia and its contractors, have gone forward with vaccination mandates for employees.
