SATA introduces SATAminijet 4400 B for small areas

The SATAminijet 4400 B, which mirrors the unique design of the standard size SATAjet 4000 B high performance spray gun, is now for the first time available in both HVLP and RP technology. Whilst the SATA HVLP technology ensures particurlarly high transfer efficiencies, the optimised high pressure RP technology helps the painter achieve maximum application speed. SATA says that with transfer efficiency rates exceeding 65 percent, both versions fully comply with existing VOC regulations. The guns are being employed in craft and industry whenever small surfaces or areas which are difficult to access need to be coated. 

 

For all types of smart repair applications, SATA says there is now the choice between the proven SR nozzle sets relying on the HVLP technology and SR nozzle sets based on the RP technology. Both – HVLP SR and RP SR – are characterized by their large spray patterns with a stretched, dry core which prevent “halos” as well as striping with relative ease – coating flaws which are often seen especially with silver shades.

 

The gun inlet pressure of the SATAminijet 4400 B ranges between 0.5 and 2.0 bar (HVLP) or 0.5 and 2.5 bar (RP), depending on the application need. For the digital measurement and precise adjustment of the inlet pressure, the regular air micrometer can be replaced by the SATA adam 2 mini which is available as an accessory item.

 

In addition to its completely redeveloped gun body design, the SATAminijet 4400 B also features a new gun handle profile which is the “en miniature” version of the one known from the SATAjet 4000 B. As a result, SATA says the hand fits around the gun like a glove. All control elements can be easily operated even when wearing protective gloves, while the round/flat fan control allows to adjust the spray pattern rapidly and pre-cisely with just a 3/4 turn. The spindle has been identically laid out to the one on the predecessor gun, SATAminijet 3000 B, and is very durable even when regularly exposed to aggressive cleaning media or when the gun is not as well cleaned as it should be.

 

The company says the new quick change connection for the QCC (Quick Cup Connector) gravity flow cup not only ensures rapid colour changes, but since the connector has now the same dimensions as the standard-sized modern SATA spray guns, it is now possible to use all available cup sizes without the need for an adapter. Due to the large connection aperture, it has become even easier to thoroughly clean the material channel.

 

Users will also notice several improvements when it comes to cleaning and maintenance of the spray gun: For example, there is now a seal at the end of the fluid tip thread protecting it against paint contamination. The large QCC cup connector and the extremely smooth material channel without edges and undercuts additionally accelerate the cleaning process. The new coarse quick change thread on the air cap and on the material flow control knob are not only robust and convenient but also very easy to clean.

SATA says that particular focus was placed on providing both highest quality and enhanced durability: The gun body is finished with a corrosion-proof chrome plating outside and a protective coating inside. The robust air cap is made of chrome-plated brass, while paint needle and fluid tip are manufactured from tempered stainless steel. The gun trigger instead has been designed in such a way that the paint needle is protected from paint mist which increases the life time of the paint needle seal, thus reducing the need to replace it, resulting in savings in terms of time and money. Finally, the thickness of the air piston rod has been increased to extend its durability.

 

Now, all three sizes of the SATA RPS disposable cup system can be used on the SATAminijet 4400 B without adapter. There are now additional versions of the spray guns with HVLP SR and RP SR nozzle sets available which come with two 0.3 l RPS disposable cups instead of the regular reusable plastic cup.
