Puttin’ on the Lac-Leamy Hilton

By CRM STAFF

Gatineau, Quebec — May 14, 2018 — Music, dancing, ball gowns and black ties – when it comes to network conferences, Carrossier ProColor sure knows how to dazzle.

At this year’s event, shop owners and managers reunited in the Hilton Lac-Leamy in Gatineau for a two-day network conference.

“We are very proud of the conference’s turnout because it showed us that a lot of people believe in Carrossier ProColor. In fact, we are still trying to figure out how to top it in 2019, which will be held at the Hilton in Quebec City,” says network general manager Sylvain Dufault.

Joined by representatives of the insurance industry and the automotive aftermarket, close to 500 people attended the two-day summit, which ran from April 26-27.

The first day hosted a trade show where guests had the opportunity to exchange with network vendor partners and learn about new products and services. After supper, guests were invited to get down to the tunes of the DJ at the Lac-Leamy Casino club, which was booked out exclusively for conference delegates.

On the second day, guests enjoyed a number of informative and entertaining speeches from public speakers and corporate officers, including an address from Dufault and network sales and marketing VP Michel Charbonneau.

Uni-Select’s talent development manager Raymond Perron delivered an interactive presentation on communication styles during which delegates identified their own, and learned how to interact with others to improve relationships with both customers and employees.

World-renowned teacher and author Carol Allain’s speech, which was focused on the differences between generations and how businesses must adapt to attract, retain and manage employees, was a particular crowd favourite.

“Allain’s conference speech shed some light on a serious issue, which all business owners are affected by, in a very humorous yet effective way,” says Dufault. “People particularly enjoyed his description of the challenges that come with working with millennials.”

The meeting portion of the conference ended with the recognition of shops celebrating 5, 10 and 15-year anniversaries under the Carrossier ProColor banner.

On Friday evening, guests attended a closing gala where top performing Carrossier ProColor shops were recognized during the Insurer’s Choice and Consumer’s Choice awards ceremony. A stylish affair, guests attended the gala dressed to the nines with custom made aluminum bow ties specially designed for the event and sparkling Swarovski earrings that were delivered to their rooms for the occasion.

“The message we wanted to convey with this year’s conference theme ‘Dressed for Success’ is the importance of always putting your best self forward in everything you do, and it really parallels what we strive for at all our locations: exceptional customer service, ongoing training, certifications, state of the art equipment and superior quality of work,” explains Dufault.

During the course of the evening, guests opened their pocketbooks during the traditional fundraising portion of the event, which took place in the form of a Bingo game and a live auction, raising $90,000 for charitable causes supported by the network, including the Children’s Wish Foundation, the largest beneficiary.
