PPG SEMA exhibit to feature elite painters, cars, bikes and new products

Bobby Alloway of Alloway’s Hot Rod Shop will be one of the all-star lineup of painters appearing at PPG’s booth at SEMA.

Mississauga, Ontario — October 25, 2013 — PPG has announced that visitors to this year’s SEMA show—November 5 to 8 at the Las Vegas Convention Center—will have plenty of good reasons to head over to the PPG exhibit in booth 24501.

PPG says it is pulling out all the stops and bringing in the top painters from the custom car, motorcycle and drag racing worlds, exhibiting radically painted cars and motorcycles, and displaying spectacular artwork by more than 30 talented automotive artists. In addition, PPG will highlight several new refinish products that it says can take professional and amateur painters to the next level of colour and design imagination.

An all‐star lineup of painters will greet visitors to the PPG booth. The group includes Charley Hutton (Charley Hutton’s Color Studio), Bobby Alloway (Alloway’s Hot Rod Shop), Dave Perewitz (Perewitz Cycle Fabrication), Kenny Youngblood (Youngblood Art) and Tom and Mitch Kelly (Kelly & Son Crazy Painters).

These award‐winning painters are highly respected for their custom paint schemes. They will all be available to sign autographs, share their painting techniques and discuss the PPG products they use exclusively, and why they prefer them. The Kellys will also be unveiling a new custom car creation—a ’57 Chevy convertible finished with PPG waterborne Vibrance Collection Money Green and silver colours—and handing out keepsake souvenir posters at the booth.

Other highlights PPG has planned for SEMA:

– Bill Steele of Steele’s Kustoms, Oakdale, Pennsylvania, will present “Blue Baller,” a retro‐styled bike with a shovelhead motor, lots of chrome, candy blue tones and a clearcoated Ditzler Big Flake silver mini‐flake finish.
– Brian Mobeck will exhibit his 2013 Ridler Award “Great Eight” finalist “Archetype,” a handmade ’33 Ford look‐alike with a gleaming cherry cocktail paint job from Unique Auto and Body in Blaine, Minn.
– Daniel Galvez from Danny D. Pinstriping and Paint in Baldwin Park, California, is showing a 1967 Chevy Impala with its unique teal, blue and purple finish accented with Danny D.’s ingenious pinstriping.

In addition, PPG representatives will be on hand to introduce Ditzler Hot Rod Black topcoat and its silky, throwback colour. They will also present the Crystallance line of colours, PPG’s latest addition to the Vibrance Collection.
