NAPA Auto Parts: Golf event supports Make-A-Wish Canada

Dsdasdasd

NAPA Auto Parts has raised $10,000 for Make-A-Wish Canada through their 22nd annual charity golf tournament -- enough to support at least one wish.

The July 8 event at Granite Ridge Golf Club in Milton, Ontario drew 265 golfers. The event, which received support from 26 suppliers, raised the funds through a 50/50 draw, mulligan sales and other activities.

This year’s featured wish child was Mason O’Brien, now 13, who was diagnosed with a liver disorder as a younger child. At 11, he saw his wish to visit his favourite theme park granted.

“Our favourite memory will always be watching Mason’s excitement,” his mother said. “From the plane ride to the park, to him laughing uncontrollably on the rides, he was able to just be a kid.”

She said the experience brought the family closer together.

Today, Mason is living a full and happy life. He is proud of his scar and continues to revisit the trip through a scrapbook of the family’s time together.
