Toronto, Ontario -- AkzoNobel is celebrating more than two years of progress with its sustainable repair network, which has certified more than 200 bodyshops across Europe.
The program, launched to help repairers reduce emissions and embed sustainable practices, now includes more than 203 certified facilities across ten countries, with another 290 in progress.
AkzoNobel has set a verified science-based sustainability target to reduce carbon emissions across its value chain by 50 percent by 2030. The sustainable repair network initiative supports that goal by providing repairers and multi-site operators with tools and technical guidance to monitor, measure and improve their environmental impact.
“Sustainability is a shared priority across the industry from automotive OEMs to insurers and repairers,” said Ignacio Román Navarro, AkzoNobel’s business director for automotive and vehicle refinishes EMEA. “True progress requires collaboration, and we are proud that so many forward-thinking bodyshops across Europe have joined us and are making meaningful progress.”
Bodyshops in Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Poland, Austria and the UK have achieved certification through a tiered framework that helps businesses track emissions, set targets and implement continuous improvements.
