According to DAC, the average franchised dealership sold 483 vehicles last year, up 8.2 percent from 2023.
“Dealer franchises continued to see their average sales rise in 2024 with the first half of 2025 also seeing strength,” said Andrew King, managing partner at DAC, in a statement. “The gain in 2024 was especially notable given the increase in the total franchise count in Canada as well; an additional 20 franchises over the previous year, largely the result of Fiat expanding its Canadian network.”
The analysis also includes data from the first half of 2025, highlighting leading brand-level performance. Lexus dealers posted the highest average with 453 units sold per franchise, while its sister brand Toyota followed closely behind with a 429-unit average. The DAC also noted that many of the strongest sales months of the year have already passed.
The sales per franchise metric is one DAC has tracked since 2010. The firm says it provides insight into dealer network health and how each brand performs relative to the size of its franchise footprint.
