Peterborough, Ontario — October 26, 2016 — Trade shows are always a great opportunity for both up-and coming companies and autobody mainstays to show off their solutions and products. The NAPA/CMAX Show in Peterborough, Ontario, lived up to this promise. The show took place October 24 and 25 at the Morrow Building at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.

On the paint, body and equipment side, vendors such as Arslan Automotive, Axalta Coating Systems, Dominion Sure Seal, Evercoat, Norton, Spraymax, Uniram and 3M all had booths staffed by knowledgeable representatives ready to explain the latest advances. Other exhibitors included Caruk & Associates representing BodyPro, Norton Automotive, SCA, SprayMax and Tork, and Precision Marketing representing DeVilbiss.

The Launch Pad II, represented by NAPA, drew a lot of interest from the repairers in attendance. A number of American OEMs have already released position statements regarding the need for pre- and post-repair scans, and it seems likely the Canadian operations will soon follow suit. General Motors is the latest to come on board and indicate that these scans are an absolutely necessary component when it comes to repairing the company’s vehicles.

This is good news for companies like Launch Tech USA, manufacturers of the Launch Pad II. According to Doug Manson, a Technical Representative for the company that we spoke with at the show, digital scanning tools will be the industry standard for collision shops by 2018.
