The “First Responder Emergency Extrication” presentation will be delivered by the Clark County Fire Department from Henderson, Nev., who will conduct live emergency extrication techniques on late model vehicles for attendees. The free presentation is designed to offer first responders a hands-on opportunity to practice life-saving exercises that can be the difference between life and death on an accident scene. The presentation is scheduled for Oct. 17 at 1 p.m..

The NABC’s Recycled Rides presentations will be spread across Oct. 17 and Oct. 18 and will feature three vehicles that will be donated to local community organizations targeting those in need. The Oct. 17 session, scheduled at 3 p.m., will feature the presentation of a specially equipped, handicap-accessible van that has been repaired by Gerber Collision and donated by State Farm Insurance. The van will be donated to the Foundation for Positively Kids and will be used to transport medically-challenged children so that they can receive the medical care they need.

During the Oct. 18 session, the NABC will host the presentation of two vehicles that have been donated by Allstate Insurance and repaired respectively by Caliber Collision and the Van Tuyl Group. The vehicles will be donated to the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youths, and will be used to aid in the organization’s effort to help homeless youths get off the streets.

In addition to the vehicle presentations, the NABC will also have a driving simulator on display that will demonstrate to motorists the dangers of texting and driving. The initiative is intended to educate drivers of any age what the consequences and repercussions are of distracted driving.
