CARSTAR Hamilton Rymal raised $5,000 for the Alzheimer Society of Canada through its inaugural Pit Stop Pilates fundraiser Aug. 16.
Multi-Store Franchise Partners, Alexis and Adriano Mercenti, owners of CARSTAR Hamilton Rymal, CARSTAR Hamilton Gage and CARSTAR Niagara Falls hosted an event at CARSTAR Hamilton Rymal in partnership with Pilates with Alyssa, with 100 attendees participating in the Pilates classes.
The fundraiser also brought together several local businesses, giving attendees an opportunity to connect with community partners. Capri Gelato, The Dessert Room, Blume, Caffe Vivo, Brow Bar by Jules and DDG were among those involved.
The fundraiser was held in support of the Alzheimer Society because of the organization’s connection to the Mercanti family. Adriano Mercanti, CEO and president of CARSTAR Mercanti Automotive Group, said the business’s late grandfather and founder lived with Alzheimer’s disease.
The event was initially announced as a new community initiative with the goal of establishing an annual fundraiser at CARSTAR Hamilton Rymal.
“What started as our first Pit Stop Pilates event became something much bigger than we imagined,” said Adriano Mercanti. “Alexis and I are so grateful for everyone who helped make it happen, and we’re excited to grow this event and carry it on for years to come.”
Organizers said Pit Stop Pilates will return as an annual event, continuing CARSTAR Hamilton Rymal’s community fundraising efforts while supporting the Alzheimer Society.
