Mirka launches Optimized Surface Preparation System

St. Laurent, Quebec — October 8, 2013

Mirka Abrasives Canada has launched its latest dust free sanding system called the Optimized Surface Preparation System (OSP). Mirka says OSP is designed to standardize the repair process and significantly reduce repair times and costs, and that this can help improve both the business profitability and customer satisfaction of the car owner by turning around a vehicle sent in for repair much faster than any conventional system. A statement from the company says the OSP system is the first of its kind in the world. It was first launched in Europe earlier this year.

This system consists of unique abrasives based on the Mirka NET family of products. The OSP does not carry the conventional grit numbering system. Instead, components are numbered 1, 2, 3, and 4, which Mirka says will help standardize shop processes.

The company says the special tools packaged with the OSP system can shrink the repair area by well over 20 percent, compared with conventional repair techniques currently in use. This results in reduced labour and a smaller repair surface also allows for savings on subsequent paint consumption. For more information on Mirka Abrasives Canada, please visit mirka.ca
