Charlotte, North Carolina — August 25, 2017 — Jose Costa has officially stepped down from his position as Group President for the Paint & Collision division of Driven Brands. The company’s Paint & Collision division owns CARSTAR, Maaco and Drive N Style.

“Jose has left to pursue other opportunities,” said Debby Robinson, Director of Corporate Communications for Driven Brands, in a recent interview with Collision Repair magazine. “They’ll be announcing someone new, from outside the business, in the coming weeks. We want to recognize Jose for his great leadership for the turnaround of Maaco and the acquisition of CARSTAR in US and Canada, and his leadership, along with CARSTAR North America President Michael Macaluso, in the integration of the two operations.”

Costa became Group President when Driven Brands set up the Paint and Collision division, following the October 2015 acquisition of CARSTAR US. Prior to that, Costa had served as the President of Maaco. CARSTAR’s Canadian operations were acquired by Driven Brands in December 2015 and added to the Paint and Collision Division. At the time, this created an organization of more than 450 CARSTAR locations across North America and a combined revenue of $800 million in sales.
