I-CAR brings line-up of OEM speakers to main stage at NACE

Hoffman Estates, Illinois — July 28, 2014 — I-CAR has announced its lineup of OEM speakers on the I-CAR Main Stage at NACE in Detroit at Cobo Center Thursday, July 31 and Friday, August 1. Speakers include technical experts from Ford, Honda, BMW, General Motors, and I-CAR.

“Building off the I-CAR Conference on July 30th, where vehicle technology trends will be discussed in depth, we are pleased to deliver additional OEM collision repair information to the NACE audience over the course of the two-day event,” says I-CAR CEO & President, John Van Alstyne. â€œThe I-CAR Main Stage will bring industry experts together to share insights relating to evolving vehicle technology and related collision repair methods and processes that repair facilities and insurance professionals must understand to perform complete, safe and quality repairs for the ultimate benefit of the consumer. ”

An added attraction at the I-CAR Stage throughout the show are vehicle and parts displays from the 2015 Ford F-150, Chrysler, General Motors, BMW, and Honda. The stage is located at the center of the NACE show floor, surrounded by leading OEMs. Registration is not required for any presentations on the Main Stage.

Thursday, July 31
10 a.m., Ford Motor Company: 2015 F-150 Collision Repair Program
• Gerry Bonanni, Senior Engineer, Paint and Body Repair and Larry Coan, Damageability Product Concern Engineer

12 p.m., I-CAR: Vehicle Technology Trends and Collision Repair Considerations
• Jason Bartanen, Director, Industry Technical Relations

• Dean Gay, Service Information Analyst

4 p.m., BMW: BMWi—Carbon Fiber and Aluminum Structure Design and Repair
• Toby Moser, Body and Paint Curriculum Developer and Instructor

Friday, August 1

11 a.m., BMW: BMWi—Carbon Fiber and Aluminum Structure Design and Repair
• Toby Moser, Body and Paint Curriculum Developer and Instructor

2 p.m., General Motors: General Motors-Corvette Stingray Aluminum Repair and Heavy Duty Truck Frame Repair
• Randy Boyd, Global Service Engineering Team Leader, Body Structures & Closures

4 p.m., I-CAR: Vehicle Technology Trends and Collision Repair Considerations
• Jason Bartanen, Director, Industry Technical Relations

Additional live demonstrations will be held in the nearby I-CAR Demo Zone where attendees can watch I-CAR presentations including techniques in riveting and bonding, MIG welding, MIG brazing, spot welding, and aluminum and MIG welding. There will also be an ABARIS carbon fiber repair presentation on Friday afternoon. No registration is required for the Demo Zone.

In addition to delivering technical training presentations to professionals in all areas of the collision industry,
I-CAR provides extensive repairability technical knowledge resources, and related support services to advance the technical aspects of the repair process through its Repairability Technical Support Initiative.
