Grand Touring to display world’s fastest work of art, other ultra-exclusive vehicles at CIAS

Toronto, Ontario — February 11, 2014 — Grand Touring Automobiles (GTA) is thrilled to present an exclusive custom-designed 2012 Lamborghini Gallardo 560-4 at the 2014 Canadian International Auto Show (CIAS).

The stunning work of art was created by world-renowned Canadian artist Lisabel – who painted the original work in composite materials (the same medium that the shell of the Lamborghini is made of), recast them in 3M vinyl, and then enveloped the Lamborghini in the material.

This amazing collaboration with Galerie Lisabel of Montreal will be on display in the GTA booth at the CIAS – in the Auto Exotica area, on the 100 level of the North Building at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

Lisabel joined forces with Lamborghini to fuse the technological fit and the beauty of her art, with the world’s most artistic, desired car. “The car served as a source of inspiration to bring a feminine artistic touch to the sexiest modern car today”, shares Lisabel.

“We’re always looking to partner with brands of a similar stature,” says Shawn Morris, Vice-President of Operations at Grand Touring Automobiles. “GTA and Lisabel share the same clientele and many of the same brand attributes, such as high-performance and exclusivity. The Gallardo is a true exotic, and the one prepared by Lisabel is truly art on wheels. It’s sexy, too.”

Now entering its 41st year, the CIAS is the largest automobile show in Canada, drawing in excess of 300,000 visitors per year. This year’s show will feature 125 exhibitors and close to 1,000 vehicles in over 500,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space. But, there will be only one 560 horsepower work of fine art on display in Toronto, and visitors will need to drop by the GTA booth to see it in all its glory.

GTA will also present several ultra-exclusive vehicles at the 2014 Canadian International Auto Show (CIAS). Three of these vehicles hail from the company’s flagship showroom at 740 Dupont Street in Toronto; while another pair celebrate the opening last summer of Lamborghini Uptown Toronto – a brand new GTA dealership located at 101 Auto Vaughan Drive, in Maple, Ont.

The 2014 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante has been called one of the most beautiful vehicles on the road today and is a world-class GT car in every sense of the word. Under the car’s sculpted hood, the 6.0-litre V12 generates 585 horsepower, 457 lb-ft of torque and a top speed of 295 km/h. In other words, it’s fast and it’s fabulous.

The latest-generation Bentley Continental Flying Spur, introduced to the world last year, represents a significant step up from the previous iteration, in terms of style and performance. This elegant sedan features a 6.0-litre W12 engine (616 hp; 590 lb-ft) and no end of desirable amenities.

The 2014 Rolls-Royce Wraith has been called one of the most unique cars in the world, and for good reason. With its 6.6-litre V12 engine (624 hp; 590 lb-ft), the Wraith is the fastest Rolls-Royce in the 110-year history of the brand. This car also boasts a fastback silhouette that is completely unique and simply stunning. With the optional two-tone paint scheme and Canadel inner door panels, the car creates an illusion of traveling at speed even when parked.

The final super-car on display in the GTA booth is, arguably, the most eye-catching of them all – the 2014 Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4, as shown in the photo below.

“We’re thrilled to be able to bring these very special cars to the Canadian International Auto Show,” says Morris. “We’re proud of all our brands and we’re especially proud to be representing Lamborghini at the show for the first time.”

Armed with 700 horsepower, all-wheel drive and a top speed of 350 km/h, the Aventador is one of the fastest and most audacious cars on the planet, period. Also on display is a 2013 Lamborghini Gallardo Super Trofeo racecar, which is presented in partnership with the Toronto Star.

“Our Gallardo was on the podium numerous times in the Super Trofeo competition last year and is certain to seize greatness as the series evolves this year,” Morris adds. “And if any car deserves the supersports designation, it’s the Aventador – it’s everything that the Lamborghini brand stands for.”

All of these exotics will be on display in the GTA booth, which is located on the 100 level of the North Building of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. This year’s Canadian International Auto Show runs from February 14 to 23.
