Toronto, Ontario — According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), a problem has been identified with Tesla’s Model X, resulting in a recall of approximately 54, 676 vehicles so far.

The problem is specifically the result of the vehicle’s controller, which does not detect low brake fluid levels, and consequently, does not show a warning light.

As a result, this non-compliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety standards has led to a recall of models from 2021 and 2023.

As of earlier this month, Tesla stated that it has not received any reports of accidents, injuries or deaths related to the issue.

The company has already taken the necessary steps to rectify the problem. A software update, deployed remotely, has been made available to all owners of affected vehicles. Owners will receive notification of changes made before December 12, 2023.
