Ottawa, Ontario — April 29, 2014 — On April 30, members of the Automotive Industries Association (AIA) of Canada will have the opportunity to honour Ezer Mevorach as he is presented with the prestigious AIA Distinguished Service Award at the Association’s 72nd Annual General Meeting at the Toronto Hilton Airport Hotel & Suites in Toronto, Ont.

Ezer Mevorach, President of Mevotech Inc., built his company in a true Canadian success story. He grew up in the automotive industry, starting out in the factory at his father’s brake pad manufacturing company, and learned about the business from the ground up.

In 1982, after earning a degree in mechanical engineering from Clarkson University, Ezer and his father, Moni, founded Etna Automotive in Montreal. Primarily a remanufacturer, the company later expanded its product offering with a new focus on steering, driveline, and suspension. In 1993, after the divestiture of its brake division, the company was renamed Mevotech.

In 2008, the proliferation of SKUs presented a colossal challenge to manufacturers and Mevotech began its transformation by narrowing its product line and intensifying its focus on three key lines – chassis parts, control arms, and bearings. Today, the company emphasizes engineering, first-to-market product planning, and innovation.

Mevorach’s passion and vision for the company involves interweaving innovation, focus, an unwavering commitment to customer needs, and excellence in service levels. Driven by the motto, “We don’t want to be the biggest, we want to be the best,” Mevotech is proud of its “engineered in Canada” philosophy, its North American market presence, and its culture of collaborative teamwork.

An industry “lifer,” Mevorach is a proud supporter of AIA and has participated in various committee groups, government relations meetings, and lobbying activities. He co-founded the AIA Young Executive Society with Brad Morris (Grote) in 2003 and is well known in the aftermarket industry for his leadership skills, his great determination, and his remarkable understanding of the issues facing the industry and the actions required to ensure its continued growth.
