CSN LikeNew achieves I-CAR Gold Class at all locations

The CSN LikeNew Collision Group started with CSN-Golden Triangle Collision Guelph and has since expanded to four locations.

Guelph, Ontario — February 28, 2017 — The CSN LikeNew Collision Group first formed in the 1970s with CSN-Golden Triangle Collision Guelph as the flagship location.

Today the group of collision repair facilities covers the entire “Golden Triangle” area of Ontario. The group includes shops in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and Guelph. Expansion started in 2004 with the addition of CSN-Golden Triangle Cambridge. CSN-Regency shops in the nearby communities of Kitchener and Waterloo joined the group in 2010. This gave the group complete coverage throughout the region.

Currently the four shops operate as the CSN LikeNew Group. The group has recently announced that all four of the collision facilities under its umbrella have achieved I-CAR Gold Class recognition.

This is a higher bar to clear than it once was. Andrew Shepherd is the Executive Director for I-CAR Canada. In a recent article for Collision Repair magazine, Shepherd wrote that “ … one can argue that most are converging on I-CAR Gold Class recognition as the common measure of shop training levels.

This trend has been facilitated by I-CAR’s move in 2011 to the Professional Development Program (PDP) as the foundation of Gold Class recognition. Where previously technicians simply had to take a number of courses per year, the PDP sets out the core skill and knowledge requirements for the four key roles in any collision repair facility.

This was a dramatic change in the definition of Gold Class, requiring dramatically more training to achieve.  At the same time, there are very few in the industry who would argue that this new level of training—and more—is not justified by the technology of the modern vehicle.”

A statement from CSN Collision Centres says the network is proud of CSN LikeNew Collision Group for achieving I-CAR Gold Class at all four locations.
