Hamilton, Ontario — June 16, 2014 — Collision Industry Information Assistance (CIIA) has announced it will hold a special Industry Information workshop on Wednesday June 25 at the Quality Inn Hotel and Conference Centre, located at 1011 Bloor Street East in Oshawa, Ont. The event starts at 6:30 p.m.
The Oshawa workshop is sponsored by 3M Canada and Standard Auto Wreckers. The workshop is set to include product demos, door prizes, and opportunities to learn more about grants and incentives, including the Small Business federal loan program and the $10,000 Apprentice Training Tax Credit.
The session will also cover what’s happening at Queen’s Park on the collision industry file, the salvage inspection programs, the Vehicle Security Professional program and predictive estimating. Look for an update from the College of Trades on their activities since appearing at last year’s workshop and their compliance work.
For the first time, shop managers and owners will receive during the workshop the mandatory Health and Safety Awareness training required in law from Workplace Safety & Prevention Services. All attendees will then receive a completion certificate valid with the Ministry of Labour to attest that training has been completed.
A fee of $15 is payable at the door to cover costs. Refreshments will be provided. Please call CIIA at 1-866-309-4272 if you plan to attend.
