Toronto, Ontario — January 1, 2019 –– CARSTAR teamed up with local radio stations across southwestern Ontario to provide 30 families in need with an extra boost of holiday cheer through its annual ‘Days of Giving’ initiative.
Listeners nominated deserving families by sharing stories of why their nominee was in need of some extra support this holiday season. Participating CARSTAR locations then donated gift cards ranging from $300-$500, which went towards food, clothing and financial support for the deserving winners.
“CARSTAR aims to give back to the communities we live and work in all year round and our annual Days of Giving donations are no different,” says Michael Macaluso, CARSTAR president. “Participating CARSTAR locations drive this program and their generosity is truly unmatched as they continue this donation year after year.”
Participating locations included: CARSTAR Cambridge, CARSTAR Elmira, CARSTAR Fergus, CARSTAR Kitchener King St., CARSTAR Kitchener Shirley Dr, CARSTAR Waterloo, CARSTAR London East, CARSTAR London West, CARSTAR Sarnia, CARSTAR St. Thomas, and CARSTAR Strathroy.
“After we donate the gift cards and get to talk to the recipients, we get so moved by their stories and are incredibly grateful that we have the opportunity to help these families out,” says Luci Minogue, owner, CARSTAR London East and CARSTAR London West. “I have even stayed in touch with some of our winners from over the years and I just feel so lucky to have met these outstanding people.”
