Members of the North American automotive recycling sector are being urged to reserve their spots now for Hill Days 2026, an annual fly-in event organized by the Automotive Recyclers Association.
The Automotive Recyclers Association, a U.S.-based trade association representing professional auto recyclers, has scheduled Hill Days for May 19–21, 2026, in Washington, D.C. The ARA’s annual advocacy event brings members to the U.S. capital for direct meetings with members of Congress and their staff on federal legislative and regulatory issues affecting the industry.
The ARA’s agenda includes advocacy briefings, issue overviews and coordinated messaging sessions before participants head to Capitol Hill for pre-arranged meetings with lawmakers representing their home states. As in previous years, Canadian recyclers may attend Hill Days if they are members of the Automotive Recyclers Association.
According to the ARA, priority discussion areas include federal right-to-repair proposals, access to vehicle parts and manufacturer data, environmental and recycling regulatory requirements, catalytic converter theft legislation and policy considerations tied to electric vehicles and high-voltage battery management.
The association provides attendees with legislative background materials and talking points in advance and coordinates scheduling with congressional offices, allowing recyclers to focus discussions on industry priorities during their time on Capitol Hill.
The ARA is encouraging early registration so members can secure hotel accommodations, confirm meeting schedules and participate fully in all preparatory sessions. Registration details, hotel information and preliminary scheduling guidance are available through the association’s website.
Hill Days represents the ARA’s primary organized federal advocacy initiative of the year, giving U.S. recyclers an opportunity to engage policymakers directly in Washington, D.C., on issues shaping the regulatory and economic environment for the automotive recycling sector.
To promote the event, the ARA also released a short video explaining the history of the Hill Days initiative and discussing its past successes.
