Dan Snyder, owner of Snyder’s Certified Truck & Auto Parts in Holland, Texas, will deliver the keynote address at the Automotive Recyclers Association of Atlantic Canada’s 2026 Convention & Trade Show.
The convention is scheduled for Aug. 21 and 22 at the JAG Hotel in St. John’s, N.L. Snyder’s appearance is sponsored by Team PRP.
Snyder has spent nearly 40 years in automotive recycling. According to the announcement from Steve Fletcher, managing director of the Automotive Recyclers of Canada, Snyder and his father, Ralph, purchased 10 acres of plowed field in Texas after Snyder graduated from Beloit College in 1988.
Three months later, on Aug. 10, 1988, Snyder Salvage opened.
Nearly four decades later, the original single-building operation has grown into Snyder’s Certified Auto & Truck Parts, a 60-acre recycling facility in Holland with about 100 employees and 11 daily delivery routes across 20,000 square miles of Central Texas, according to the announcement.
Snyder later moved into self-service recycling with his brothers Andy and Travis. The first Wrench-A-Part location opened in Belton, Texas, in 2007. The family now operates seven self-service locations across Austin, Belton, Holland, Lubbock and San Antonio.
Together, the full-service and self-service operations employ about 350 people, according to Fletcher’s announcement.
Snyder serves on the Team PRP board of directors and is a frequent speaker at industry events.
His ARAAC keynote will focus on business longevity, succession planning, talent development and operational resilience. The announcement says Snyder will ask attendees whether their businesses are prepared to operate without them.
The keynote will also cover finding and developing skilled workers, protecting recycling businesses from market shifts and operational disruptions, and planning an exit before retirement is close.
That succession theme will draw on Snyder’s own family business experience. His son, Barrett, followed him into the operation and later earned an ownership stake.
Fletcher’s announcement said Snyder brings a “blend of business longevity and hands-on succession planning” to the ARAAC stage.
More details on the full convention schedule are expected in the coming weeks.
